Presentation,
objectives and activities
Presentation The SABD is an agricultural trade union which " represents the organization with which the farmers (bio-dynamists) were equipped, in order to produce food who are more advantageous with the existence of the man, while looking after the natural, social, cultural and economic environment. " In 2007, the SABD counts approximately 170 members. The Trade union of Biodynamic Agriculture is a structure seeking to gather a maximum of professionals in order to have a weight in national authorities and to establish a network of producers.
The willpower is to share our experiments and to
help, to facilitate the meetings, to defend us and represent our interests, to
improve the practice of biodynamics and to make known it. Objectives of the SABD

To represent
and defend the bio-dynamists farmers Activities of the SABDDefense and representation1. Our presence to the national authorities allows an official recognition of the biodynamy. It is done in total dialogue with other national bio-dynamies associations.
●
Exchanges of
information and common actions are carried out with the "FNAB", "Nature et
Progrès", the "Simples", "le Réseau Semences Paysannes" and the other organizations
of the biological sphere : work on the new European settlement, lawsuits brought
against the French state for nontransposition of directives on the GMO, etc.
Advise/Meeting and formations2. Our action for the formation
● A BPREA mixed-farming breeding
adapted to the biodynamics is carried out in partnership between the SABD and the
CFPPA of Obernai : a formation qualifying over 2 years, to become
biodynamic farmer.
Exchanges and connections3. Our action for the link between the biodynamists farmers

We publish a
newsletter quarterly containing information of the
trade-union life, information touching with organic agriculture, from the points of
view of biodynamists, the articles connecting biodynamic agriculture to its anthroposophic bases...

Promotion and communication5. Our action for the promotion of biodynamic agriculture The SABD finalized in 2006 the rewriting of a work entitled " biodynamic agriculture: an alive culture ", prefaced by Jean Marie Pelt, published and distributed by the Movement of Biodynamic Culture. This work presents a total, ecological and human agricultural process.
Research and development6. Our action for research Creation with the Movement of Biodynamic Culture and Demeter, the mark of the products resulting from biodynamic agriculture, a group of Research on topics such as the preparations, the landscape, the manure, meteorology, the seeds... Activities : constitution of groups on the biodynamic bee-keeping, meteorology, the use of copper in vine growing, 2006 ; edition of a teaching sorter on the results of research for the biodynamic preparations in 2006 ; seminar in November 2005 on biodynamic agriculture and research ; travel on research in bee-keeping to Germany in February 2005, in the Netherlands in August 2005 in an institute of research and on farms which make experimentation ...
